Meier Fire Investigation’s response to the Covid-19 emergency.

At Meier Fire, Fire investigations continue during Covid-19. Our business meets the the definition of an essential business. We are is maintaining our regular office hours and you can reach us at 941-900-1234 – whether we are working in the office, home, or any other location as we all work to flatten the curve.

Everyone at the Meier Fire office (currently just Rich & I) are healthy and well. We’re practicing self-isolation and following current OSHA guidelines for a safe work environment. That means no outside forays beyond what is absolutely necessary and not taking unnecessary risks. We have made advanced preparations, are well-stocked, and have thorough sanitary procedures in place. Our offices and lab are in a stand-alone building that is completely self-contained with no outside personnel.

Current Fire and Explosion Investigation Cases:

We understand that joint inspections, in person depositions and trial testimony may need to be postponed or rescheduled. Once this crisis passes, we will work with you and our other clients to get these activities on the schedule and completed as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, we can still continue to work on your case. There many things we can do to keep your case moving along while we wait out the Covid-19 crisis.

Therefore, at Meier Fire investigations continue during Covid-19. It is important to document the scene as quickly as possible. We can do that for you.

As a fire investigator, and as a former U.S. Army NBC-NCO (Nuclear, Biological & Chemical warfare defense), Rich Meier knows how to protect himself and others from contaminants and pathogens.  With our current supply of protective equipment, we can still perform and scene evidence exams. Travel outside of our area is still possible, and the will be evaluated for the safest method of transport, be it air travel or driving to the scene.

Beyond scene exams, we can also perform the following services for you:

  • Interview witnesses via telephone or video chat
  • Identify potential causes
  • Obtain exemplars
  • Provide you with a list of parties to put on notice
  • Give you a complete assessment of the case’s merits
